Inventory Management Overview
Inventory is a critical aspect of Warehance, representing the stock of physical products in the warehouse. It can be viewed by products, locations, or both. Each location lists the quantity of each product stored there.
Inventory Statistics:
For each product, four main inventory statistics are displayed:
- On-hand: Total quantity of the product in all warehouses combined.
- Allocated: Quantity of the product allocated to outstanding order items.
- Available: Quantity of the product unallocated and available to fulfill orders.
- Backordered: Remaining quantity needed to meet the allocation needs of outstanding order items.
Location Types and Inventory Movement:
Locations play a crucial role in inventory management. They can be sellable, pickable, or tote. Sellable locations can fulfill incoming orders, pickable locations store inventory for order picking, and tote locations are used solely in the picking process.
Inventory Adjustment and Transfer:
Inventory can be adjusted or transferred via inbound shipments or actions from the product page. Adjustments can be made for various reasons, and quantities can be increased or decreased. Transferring inventory allows moving stock between locations, maintaining accurate stock levels across the warehouse.
Viewing Inventory History:
The inventory tab provides a comprehensive view of all inventory locations and their history. It displays quantities, locations, and details of adjustments or transfers, including who made the changes and when.
