How to Create an Inbound Shipment
Video Tutorial
Step 1: Navigate to Inbound Shipments
- Go to the left-hand side menu and click on Inbound Shipments.
- Then, click Create Inbound Shipment.
Step 2: Select the Client and Warehouse
- If you need to, select the client for the shipment. If you are the client, you can skip this step.
- Choose the warehouse where the shipment will go.
Step 3: Name the Shipment
- Name your inbound shipment for easy reference.
- For example, you might name it “New Inbound Shipment.”
- Click Create to move forward.
Step 4: Edit Shipment Details (Optional)
- On the next screen, you can edit details such as the shipment reference, assign a vendor, ship date, expected date, and other relevant information.
- You can also see the shipment history, add warehouse notes, update the status, and attach relevant documents.
Step 5: Add Products to the Shipment
- To tell the warehouse what products are arriving, click the Add Product button.
- A list of your products will appear, and you can search for the items you want to include in the shipment.
Step 6: Specify Product Quantities
- After selecting the product, input the quantity being shipped.
- Click Save when you’re done.
Step 7: Use the Sell-Ahead Feature (Optional)
- If you want to sell the products before they physically arrive in the warehouse, use the Sell-Ahead feature. This adds the quantity you specified to the current available inventory.
- This prevents your inventory from showing as sold out if you’ve already sold items and they haven’t arrived yet.
Step 8: Create a New Product (If Needed)
- If the product does not already exist in your system, click on the option to Create a New Product.
- Assign a name and SKU to the new product. For example, you might create “Collagen Powder” with a new SKU.
- Once created, input the quantity you’re adding to the inbound shipment.
Step 9: Finalize the Inbound Shipment
- After adding all products and adjusting the quantities, click Save.
- Your inbound shipment is now successfully created and ready for processing.
